GHANA’S ‘’YEAR OF RETURN’’- A SIMPLE EXAMPLE TO LEARN FROM

President Akufo-Addo said, “We know of the extraordinary achievements and contributions they [Africans in the diaspora] made to the lives of the Americans, and it is important that this symbolic year — 400 years later — we commemorate their existence and their sacrifices.” 2019: Year of return for African Diaspora by Benjamin Tetteh Africa Renewal December 2018 — March 2019

UNMASKING THE VEIL AROUND THIRD WORLD COUNTRIES USE OF TECHNOLOGY

The use of technology in impacting economic growth is now the central focus of many leaders in many third world countries. The race to developing technological ideas with a global impact is very aggressive as we usher in the forthcoming industrial revolution.

MY ARTICLES

WHO BREAK AFRICA?

We are broken they say, AFRICA needs a major fix; but who break us??

We constantly point to the insecurity of our fellow man and completely sleep on the assumptions of what they should do and neglect what we must do.

SKILLS AND EMPLOYABILITY

As the world becomes more advance, we see degrees being replaced by skills and practical experiences. Employers are more concerned with the skills you have, than what you did at undergraduate or even graduate levels.

SIX (6) BUSINESS IDEAS THAT CAN MAKE AN IMMEDIATE IMPACT IN SIERRA LEONE?

As more and more people venture into entrepreneurship, the race to develop and launch businesses to create impact, employment, and profit becomes more bold and brutal.

The underlying problems for many would-be-entrepreneurs lie in entering saturated markets with a not-so-unique product or with businesses that are similar to the competition and without any clear competitive advantage, which arguably leaves consumers indecisive.

THE LITTLE THINGS YOU CAN DO TO MAKE SIERRA LEONE A BETTER PLACE

Before writing this, I asked a couple of random questions on my Facebook wall and this article is as a result of the few responses that I have gathered over time on some of these questions.

You see most times, we assume that we know what is best for our country, for a given situation and so on, but we never really propose solutions to make things better, rather we state the problems.

FROM THE DESK OF SIDI SACCOH- A LETTER TO SIERRA LEONE

Dear Sierra Leone,

I write this letter in a complete state of dilemma.

On one hand, I am optimistic about the future I perceive through the amazing young female leaders I have had the opportunity to meet and network with.

And on the other hand, I am afraid that our lack of structure in all facets of society; from our individual failures to take responsibility (our huge sense of entitlement) to our gross misunderstanding of leadership and honesty will consistently impede our ability to grow and build a nation that is fully united irrespective of who our political leaders are.
